Spelling Rule of the Day

I notice spelling. I notice misspelling. It makes me crazy. So, here is my spelling rule of the day:

How to add “ing” to a word ending in “e”.

ING = If the word ends in E, drop the E, add ING

ING =  If the word ends in a CVC (consonant vowel consonant) pattern, it gets a double consonant + ING.
