Accountability

I suck at it. Especially when it comes to food. I eat secret nibbles like someone will see and rat me out as a fake. I’m done. I’m posting my daily food to the side…everything. I promise to put each and every thing I eat and drink on this page! Feel free to call me out on anything that looks fishy…you know when you spy
Snack: 1 Crumb Donette…ask me if I really only had 1 and then tell me to knock it off! Not that I would eat those…really.

I gotta get tougher on this, especially on the sugar. I’m not an addict but certain days I love a big DQ sundae! If any of you crossfitters get the CF Kids magazine there is a great article about sugar in there. If you’re interested, let me know in comments or email and I can get it for you.

EDIT: I just read this thought it was great. “Focus on what you’re gaining (better health, better body, better focus…) rather than what you’re missing out on.” Duh. I always think about how great what everyone else is eating looks instead of how great I look or feel or how fast I can run. I just had a light bulb moment.

Ok, now go eat something good for you!

A food journal really helps stop mindless snacking and cleans up the diet.

You’re so right, Katie. I just didn’t want to be completely honest for the whole world to see me mess up. Time to get over it.

I made my daily plate public a few weeks ago and told a few people who wanted to know exactly what I ate. It really helped me to not sneak crap. My biggest problem is portion control. It’s just plain scary how much peanut butter I can put down.

I think it’s fascinating how intimate it is sharing what you (not specifically you) eat in a given day. Even though I don’t have crap on my plate at TDP very often I sometimes worry people will pick apart my macros or criticize me for not eating a enough or who knows… I’m a freak tho.

Refined sugar is almost evil in any amount but this is coming from a recovered addict who almost let it strip away every ounce of confidence I had in myself.

Brave post Martha!! I’ll be checking your food daily. ;)

I was just thinking the same thing! I think it will be interesting to see how all my little extra bites add up here and there, so I think I might also go back to journaling on FitDay for a little while to clean things up a bit. It’s really similar to Daily Plate, and I like how I can create custom foods and see how my diet is proportioned at the end of the day. Check it out, maybe you’ll like it =)
