The Fair and Food
We went to the County Fair yesterday. My baby girl won 2nd prize for the dress she made! I am so proud of her. I know she wanted first, but the way they set up the youth categories any and all clothing was in the same category. So her original design dress was up with an apron. The item that got 1st prize was a robe. It was finished way better than ours…a little fishy in my opinion. But, it could have been a very gifted kid. Either way, it must have been difficult to judge. I’m just happy that she continues to love to design and sew. She came right home and got out an old soccer jersey to create a halter out of it…we’ll see.
I managed to avoid the amazing fair food. I ate on the way there and really wasn’t hungry…plus everything costs a flippin’ mint. I did have a fish taco for lunch, but that was it and there really wasn’t anything bad about it. They did give me the fried even though I asked for grilled, but I suffered through.
I finally have an actual appointment with the girl who is helping me with my routine on Saturday. I’m excited a scared all at the same time. It did motivate me to eat a whole pile of asparagus tonight which I have not touched since my last competition. I actually didn’t gag or have to wash it down.
I realized what my issue has been…why I have lagged getting fired up about prepping. I need the trainer so that I have someone with a vested interest. Otherwise, if I’m the only one who cares, it just isn’t enough for me. While I have support from my hubby and a few friends, a trainer is paid to care. So, even if they are faking it (not saying that they ever were), they make me feel I will not only be letting myself down, but them as well. Is that a sick mindset? Maybe I need therapy. LOL
So, the show is on. October 4th in L.A. Come watch me flop around on the stage. A dream realized. Oh yeah, funny thing- I have to wear an evening gown and share my philosophy of fitness. Ha! You won’t wanna miss that!
