Ready to sweat?

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

I better be. Today we leave for Arkansas. Yes, Arkansas in June. We’re just smart like that. Everyone knows the south in summer is the most pleasant vacation destination. If you close your eyes and think hard it almost seems like a tropical island. Well, not really but I can try. 6 of 7 siblings will be there with my mom who is getting up there…she’s 79, but my brother likes to joke saying she’s “almost 100″. lol

I lived in Arkansas from age 10 - 17. I liked living there for the most part. I was too young to realize what it was like. Now, when I go back I could never imagine myself living there again. It is fun to go back and see the old houses and where the rooster chased me at the bus stop. Ahhh, memories.

Exercise of the Week:

I looked up Glute workouts yesterday to see if I could find something new. I found the usual squats and lunges. Then I saw these flutter kicks. So here is the butt workout I did. Try it. Your butt WILL be sore.

1. Jamie Eason’s “Hellacious” Walking Lunges - Barbell weight of choice: Walking lunge x 10 with double dips, return with single dips, then 12 squats at the end (2 sets)

2. Flutter kicks…lay on your stomach on a bench with legs off the end. Slowly flutter kick while squeezing your glutes x15 each side (2 sets)

3. V kicks - lay the same as the flutter, open and close legs in a V shape…be sure to squeeeeeeze the butt! (2 sets of 15)

4. Finished with 10 minutes of 5% inlcine running at about 5 mph +/-.

That’s it! My butt is SORE! This is not a Cross Fit workout, but Cross Fit is really teaching me how to workout smart, instead of long.

Oh and I had to throw in some handstand push ups. They just make me feel strong, and I’m about 80% there on the kipping  pull up. Exciting stuff!

I had another Kick off party for Arbonne and my sister became a wholesale client! Cool! I have at least three parties scheduled so I’m really excited!

Ok, I have to finish packing and have a fathers day breakfast with the family.

If I don’t get a chance to post…have a great week!

Kick Off!

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

I had my first Arbonne Kick off party last night and it was great! I got a few orders and signed up my first wholesale client. I really wasn’t expecting that. I think I need to raise the bar on my expectations. I plan to be a DM by the end of July! Too big? Says who! I just have to learn to open my mouth and speak. lol Expecting great things tonight! YAHOO!

Detox - Day 2

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

I am thinking that maybe I don’t have much to “detox”. I  know I have not been eating 100% clean since my show but I guess all the fibrous veggies leading up to that pretty much cleaned me out. I do notice that I have barely been hungry the last two days. I eat because I should but not really feeling the need to. Maybe I should do this every weekend since that is when I eat all the things I probably should not.

I feel good. No stomach pains or cramps. A little tired, but I’m also working myself to death right now, too. I can always tell when I’m stressed…I had a weird dream last night and was yelling at hubby. I said “don’t move!” I was dreaming I was dropping something and he was going to mess it up. Of course he was sound asleep no moving a muscle until I yelled at him. oops.

Ugh. Back to work.

What’s Up With Me

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

Detox: Day one was easy. In the evening I definitely noticed a need to get to the restroom, but nothing crazy.

Competing: I plan to compete in the Natural ABA again- in LA the “International Forever Natural” definitely fitness, possibly figure and Sports Model if I can afford it.

School: Only 4 days to go, but lots to do. I have inherited the task of making the 8th grade graduation video. I love doing it but it takes lots of time to get it done. Thankfully grades are done! Looking forward to next year. this one was difficult for me. I will be teaching PE and Spelling/Lit. Sounds like fun to me!

Cross Fit: Still loving the workouts but switching them up with regular lifting too. The cross fit is making me stronger which is needed for the routine. July 12-13 I will be getting my Level I Certification, then in September I will get the Kids Cross Fit Cert. Fun stuff!

Summer in general: Just booked a hotel in Russellville, Ar. Yes, that is the sexy vacation destination for this year. Free plane tickets, plus needing to get the family together dictated that one. Mom is getting on (79) and who knows how many more times she will have us all (6 out of 7 kids) in one place. After that, building my Arbonne business and getting much needed beach and pool time. Ahhhh. Being a teacher does have its perks.

Alrighty, back to video making. xo

Day 1: Seasource Detox

updates later…

2 weeks until…the “No trainer” training program

Friday, June 6th, 2008

I’m going it alone this time around. Workouts are fine, food will be the issue. I’m really ready to prove I can do it. I will be competing in fitness in October. ***stomach sinks*** I’m so excited. I’ve been trying to find someone to come compete with me. So far, no luck. ;0)

Tonight the school play is over and I will be able to focus on final grades and the 8th grade slideshow. Once those are finished, I can ride out the last few days. Man, I cannot wait!

Be back soon.

xo

Quote from Craig Harper

“The Myth: Creating positive change in our world is largely about finding the right resource or mechanism; be that a program, a course, workshop, book, guru, teacher, diet, equipment, workout, pill or something else.

The Truth: Creating positive change in our world is primarily about finding the right mindset. Our mindset determines (1) what we do, (2) what decisions we make (3) how we react and (4) how we deal with challenges and adversity - which in turns dictates (5) what kinds of results we produce in our life (whether we create positive change, stay the same or go backwards). ”

My translation: Attitude is everything. Well, maybe not everything, but very important.
