The Old Navy Message
I went school shopping the other day. I was on my way out but thought I’d drop in Old Navy too see what their pants were like. Behold! What did I see? Tents. Huge shirts. Not empire, but big giant blouses that could double as maternity dresses for very small people. Seriously, who is buying this crap? It’s not only ugly, but is it sending the message “Hey, it’s fine to get fat and unhealthy. We’ll just keep it camoflaged.”
I guess the upside is we might not have to see people shamelessly pouring themselves into clothes that are too small.

I knew someone who worked there…they actually size UP their clothing to fit more people. So if you buy a size 4 it’s really a 6-8….but you feel better about buying the 4 hence you go back for more.
It’s completely screwed up but more and more companies want to cater to our “growing” nation….
Personally…I thinks it just adds to an increasing problem and shows no signs of stopping:(

I’ve noticed those ugly styles. And who looks really cute in those thing? No one *I* know! I’ve suspected the size issue too. I’m always suspect when I drop a size or two between stores in one shopping trip. I hate that they do that. Give me an accurate reading! Women’s sizes should be measurements like guys’. Of course I’m sure they’d fudge those too. *sigh

I personally would love to see normal size clothing again. I don’t know how many times I have picked up an XL and not been able to wear it because it is one of those micro shirts. I hate seeing fat women, such as myself with low rise jeans and short t-shirts on. Many times I have to go and get mens shirts just to cover my belly. On the flip side, I will be very happy when I get to complain about the shirts being too big for small women. Maybe next year!

I know the exact tops your talking about and I refuse to buy them cause I totally feel pregnant in them. They are absolutely hideous! Hell, I refused to wear them when I was pregnant I just wore X-large t-shirts lol

I have some of those shirts, and they are perfect for that muffin top …. I’m finally in a smaller jeans size, but they aren’t that loose *yet*, so those shirts cover it perfectly.
But I *do* sometimes feel pregnant in them. LOL.
