Ventura Mother of 3 Takes…
4th in B Class at the Jr California Figure Competition!

Yeah, 4th. It sounds pretty good until you add that there were 6 in the class. I’m not upset though. I had a blast. It was seriously exhausting, but so fun. There were 12 girls in the 35+ class and I placed 7th there. The winners in that group were seasoned competitors and deserved to win. We are in negotiations about competing again. I really still have fitness in my heart, but I know that would take awhile. I don’t wanto come out looking like oone of the losers from SYTYCD.
I am so thankful to My mom, Kat and Michele (and Ashtin and Liam) who came to cheer me on. It meant so much to me to have those friendly faces in the crowd. Also, to my mom for helping me with my tan. Mom knows me in a whole new way.
I have to give lots of love to Jared for being the one to put up with the dieting, keeping me accountable, endless workouts and constant talk about fitness, taking my progress pictures for me all the time, getting up early to help me tan, spending a whole Saturday watching bodybuilders (I’m absolutely sure he LOVED that), working his tail off to pay for everything that went into this and mostly allowing me to persue something that many people don’t understand and often criticize. Thanks honey, I love you.
Props to Emma for also keeping me accountable, and so supportiveand making the awesome sign for me. The hugs she gave me at the end were better than any trophy anyone could have given me.
Many thanks to all my online friends. You all are amazingly supportive and don’t realize how important that is when doing something like this. The outpouring of kindness from strangers is overwhelming. I’d like to say more about this, but I better leave it at that.
I did have the privelege of making two online friends into real flesh and blood friends, Ana and Jen. True sweethearts. I enjoyed every minute of this weekend with you two!
Onward…
